I Declare Medley – EFE Nathan

From the stable of one of Africa’s leading female gospel singers comes this new song that accompanies the mind all day. EFE Nathan has done it again with a medley version of one of her beloved singles ‘I Declare’. This medley is a remix of a 2011 version of ‘I Declare’ from her second album ‘A New Level’. The album featured songs such as ‘Still within the Flow’ and ‘Lift Your Hands’, which features Mike Abdul of the Midnight Crew. Those of us who heard the previous version were introduced to the definition of soul gospel. EFE, who describes her music as CONTAF (Contemporary African), sure has a way of weaving soulful tunes into danceable, sing-along hits.

‘The lyrics of ‘I Declare’ kept going through my mind and when it was time to go back into the studio, I knew I just had to do that song again to declare God’s awesomeness, mighty Hand and His power over lives especially my own, these past few months and over the years. I don’t praise God because I am emotional; the reason I praise God the way I do is because I almost died in a situation, but God snatched me out! I owe Him praise,” EFE said.

Christians Praying For “Miracle” in Ukraine

The crisis in Ukraine continues to persist as diplomatic talks between nations have yet to make any impact. Following months of protests in Kiev, and the eventual ousting of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Russian forces seized the Crimean Peninsula. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk has stated this action is “an act of war”, and troops have begun mobilizing on the country’s borders.

Amidst the Chaos, Ukrainian Christians are praying for a miracle to end the fighting. News site Christian Today writes,

“As the country’s future hangs in the balance, Ukrainian Christians are appealing to the worldwide Christian community to stand with them in prayer and fasting. ‘Ukraine has suffered enough.

People died and countless numbers were injured in the protests. And now there is the possibility of invasion, occupation, civil war and a divided country,’ said the European Evangelical Alliance in an update. ‘There is a tiny glimmer of hope. The vast majority of Ukrainians do not want war or a divided nation.

The Kiev protests were peaceful for months and only a minority turned to violence in the last days. Most knew that peace was the only answer, and many also knew that prayer was crucial.’”

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has condemned Russia’s actions, and is currently working with European leaders to end the violence. Click here for more news on Ukraine.

Israel Seizes Weapons Shipment from Iran

The Israeli navy seized a ship in the Red Sea on Wednesday that was carrying dozens of advanced Iranian-supplied rocked made in Syria and headed toward the Gaza Strip, SRN News Reports.

Hamas, the militant Palestinian Islamist movement that governs Gaza, denies any involvement. It accused Israel of concocting a story to “justify the blockade” of the coastal territory.

This news follows months of tension between Israel and Iran. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is visiting the U.S. this week, said he approved the ship seizure after consultations with his security chiefs.

“At the same time that it is talking to world powers, at the same time that Iran is smiling and saying all kinds of honeyed words, that same Iran is sending lethal weaponry to terrorist organizations and it is doing so in a complex web of covert, worldwide operations,” Netanyahu said from Los Angeles.

According to the BBC, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had been tracking the weapons for several months, first flown from Damascus to Tehran and then taken to a port in southern Iran. The ship was eventually intercepted while on its way to Sudan.

This latest discovery does nothing to help the feeble negotiations between the two nations. Last month, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei declared that talks between Tehran and the six world powers meeting in Vienna would “not lead anywhere.”
