Muslim Brotherhood Launches Political Party in America

The Muslim Brotherhood is launching a political party in America for the purpose of electing Muslims and influencing legislation that is favorable to Islam.  This development should come as no surprise: the number of mosques in the United States has escalated 74 percent since 2000.  The government of Turkey is building a $100 million mega mosque in Maryland.  There are now 66 mosques in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area.

According to a recent survey, 98 percent of mosque leaders say Muslims should be involved in American institutions, and 91 percent agree that Muslims should be involved in politics.  We should expect to see a growing number of Muslim candidates for office, and a growing number of Muslims who will support them financially.

Islam is not the only non-Christian movement to make headlines today, as this is “Humanism at Yale Week.”  Monday was “Ask an Atheist” day; Tuesday was “Catholics & Humanists Together”; today features “Atheism, Storytelling, and Advice for Christians Who Wish to Talk to Non-Christians.”  Chris Stedman, Assistant Humanist Chaplain at Harvard University, is the speaker.  Ironically, both Yale and Harvard were founded by Christian ministers to train Christian ministers.

Should believers be angry about these developments?  Or should we view them as opportunities for the Kingdom?  Cultural advances by atheists and non-Christian religions are obvious symptoms of the declining Christian influence on our culture.  But I believe they are also an amazing opportunity for the gospel, for two reasons.

First, growing secularist and anti-Christian movements are a wake-up call for believers to pray.  Those who founded our nation and its earliest academic institutions were clearly shaped by the Judeo-Christian religious tradition.  That worldview is in jeopardy today more than ever before.  It is imperative that believers humble ourselves, pray together, seek God’s face, and turn from our sins—now (2 Chronicles 7:14).

Secondthe growth of atheist and other non-Christian populations in America means the world has come to us.  Believers at Yale have an organized, accessible opportunity this week to share their faith with atheists.  An Islamic political movement gives Christians in public service occasion to share Christ with Muslims of great influence.

In Acts 1:8, Jesus commissioned his followers to “be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”  In Acts 8:1, “there arose . . . a great persecution against the church in Jerusalem, and they were scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria.”  Verse 4 adds, “Now those who were scattered went about preaching the word.”  And so Acts 8:1 fulfilled Acts 1:8.

Does Jesus want to redeem the faith challenges of our day in the same way?  How will you go about “preaching the word” today?

Keep Focusing On The Master Plan – Bro Peter Emmanuel

“From there on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem, and that He would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of the religious laws. He would be killed, but on the third day He would be raised from the dead.”

But Peter took Him aside and began to reprimand Him for saying such things. ‘’Heaven forbid, Lord,’’ He said “this will never happen to you!” Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s” Mathew 16:21-22.

As you embark on a divine plan for your life, you must be careful with the kind of people you relate with and the kind of counsel you receive. Be careful with men that see things only on the human point of view. Be careful from distractions, men and women who are specialist in converting divine things to merely humanly. Be careful with some Christian who are only concerned about daily bread (butter and bread). These men do not know the acceptance of suffering today for the fulfilment of eternal things, all they know is (food is for the mouth and mouth for food).

Be careful else you may be distracted and be tempted to go your own way and not the way of the Lord. In the testament of the Gospel, no generation was left out without a platform in which their life must be conformed with. E.g: from Egypt to Cannan, God gave Isrealites a pattern at which their life and everything must accurately be conformed with. The scripture states it this way:

“Be sure that you make everything according to the pattern I have shown you here on the Mountain” Exodus 25:40

Though Moses himself could not make it to Cannan, this ordinance was passed down to Joshua which was their master plan until Christ.

‘’. . .be careful to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left. . .’’ Joshua 1:7

When God told Joshua to remain focused and to do just as the law said, He was saying to us too in that manner today. Though in our dispensation, Christ is the master plan we all must be conformed to.

‘’take ye heed; behold I have foretold you all things and what I say unto you I say unto all, watch.’’ Mark 13:23

Now, this is what we are foretold. The father declared: “this is my dearly loved son who bring me great joy, hear him.” Mathew 17:5
