Tasha Cobbs Debuts Strong With Sophomore Release

Congratulations to Motown Gospel recording artist Tasha Cobbs, whose new release One Place Live debuts atop this week’s Billboard Top Gospel Albums Chart. With 13,000 units sold, the release also tops the Billboard Top Christian/Gospel Albums Chart and enters at #28 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart.

It also now holds the distinction of being the most streamed Gospel release this year with over 480,000 detected streams!

“Tasha’s fans have been waiting feverishly for the release of One Place Live,” says Ken Pennell, President of Motown Gospel. “The purity and power of Tasha’s performance have made the wait worthwhile. At Motown Gospel, we are proud to work with Tasha to take her ministry to a rapidly growing audience.”

Cobbs has tirelessly promoted One Place Live at key, high profile appearances that included major churches around the country such as New York’s Greater Allen Cathedral and Dallas’ Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. She also was a part of T.D. Jakes’ MegaFest this summer in Dallas, Texas and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Festival of Hope. Cobbs was the only Gospel singer invited to debut music at the Radio One Urban Blitz in New York, and gave tastemakers in Los Angeles an intimate first listen to the sonic masterpiece during a showcase at Capitol Studios where she also performed and held an exclusive, candid conversation with Billy Johnson, Jr. of Yahoo! Music. (Check out the full interview here )

Produced by label mate VaShawn Mitchell, the project is led by the single “Jesus Saves” and features favorites “Put a Praise On It”, “Immediately”, “Jesus Did It”, and the title-track which was co-written by Cobbs mother, Pastor Bertha Cobbs. Other features on the project include appearances from Kierra Sheard, Jamie Grace, Bishop Paul S. Morton, William Murphy III, and Pastor Bryan Pierce (of Men of Standard).

Cobbs will soon embark on a national One Place Live Tour kicking off this Fall with dates to be announced soon.
