Music Video: Sammie Okposo – I Thirst For You

The new single, accompanied with visuals, by Award-winning international Gospel music minister Sammie Okposo is finally out. The song titled “I Thirst For You” is a heartfelt supplication born out of zeal and hunger for God.

More than just a song, it is a statement that expresses the writer’s stand as he takes a position of surrender, inviting the Supreme One to conquer him. What better time to express this deep longing of the heart than when you are celebrating the day God breathe his life into you.

As Sammie Okposo celebrates his birthday today, the 30th of May, 2020, The award winning Gospel music minister pours out his heart desire, saying what he wants, thirst and hungers for, more than the gains of the world, is Jesus!

A soul stirring rendition that infuses Urban Pop/Rock elements into contemporary worship music, to birth a masterpiece for the place of personal or collective alter. The tone of the song does not in anyway compromise its title. You can literally feel the thirst and hunger for God, in both Sammie Okposo’s voice and the background vocals. The mood of the simple, yet spectacular visual also support the thematic preoccupation.

“I Thirst For You” is Sammie Okposo’s 5th release for the year 2020. Sammie Okposo who have defiled the global pandemic to raise an alter to God through his releases in the season had earlier said that “there is a need to fill the atmosphere with worship.” In this light, we have witnessed amazing critically acclaimed singles such as “I Have Never Seen God Change,” “Skaataa Dance,” “Nigerian Worship Medley” and the recently released praise single “Nobody Can” which immediately shot up to the top of iTunes Nigeria Chart and remained on the chart for 3 days, upon release.

“I Thirst for You” is written and produced by Sammie Okposo. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Zamar Entertainment by Imma Jamz. The video was shot and directed by Akin Alabi.

Music: Imara Joyce – The Healer

Nigerian gospel musician, Imara Joyce releases a new song of assurance titled The Healer. The Abuja based musician who is also the host of the online inspirational show tagged Voyage of Reality and a Meteorologist/Climatologists assures listeners of the healing power of God with the new song.
“In a world ravaged by the novel virus, it is absolutely obvious that who we need is Jesus THE HEALER. The good news is He healed us over 2000 years when his body was broken at Calvary without taking a dime from us.
There are two necessary ingredients in Divine Healing: GOD’S HEALING POWER united with OUR FAITH will produce HEALING in our bodies.
Luke 5:17-26 tells the story tells how the friends of a paralytic made a hole in the roof to lower him down to Jesus. There were two things present which worked together to free this man from the disease. v20: “when he saw their FAITH.” v17: “the POWER of the Lord was present TO HEAL them.”
When these two teams up and work together no sickness can stand. If faith was the only thing the man would not have to be let down through the roof. They had faith before this. So faith alone did not heal this man, neither did the power alone. It was the two working together. Our faith joined with His power causes recovery to begin. In this story, their faith needed to join up with God’s Healing Power. But there was something in the way (the roof), which had to be removed. Do we have anything standing between us and His Healing Power? Yes – unbelief -caused by a lack of knowledge. We can remove this by a diligent study of the Word of God.”
Imara Joyce – The Healer Lyrics
There is a healer who can heal
Everyone who has a disease
A healer who can heal
Without taking a dime
Jesus the healer who can heal
Every sickness in your body
The Healer Who Can Heal
You Just believe
Just believe
Just believe
Will you believe
Will you believe
Will you believe
There is a healer who can heal
Everyone who has a disease
A healer who can heal
Without taking a dime
Jesus the healer who can heal
Every sickness in your body
Jesus
The healer who can heal
Just believe
Just believe
Just believe
Solo: ooooooh
Will you believe
Will you believe
Will you believe
CHORUS
Solo: He has healed you
He has healed you
He’s healed you
He broke his body for you
He has healed you
My saviour he has healed you
He has healed you
Without taking a dime
ALL: He has healed you
He has healed you
He’s healed you
He broke his body for you
He has healed you
Jesus has healed you
He’s healed you
Without taking a dime
He has healed you
He has healed you
He’s healed you
He broke his body for you
He has healed you
Jesus has healed you
He has healed
Just believe
Just believe
Just believe
Healer
Healer
Healer
(Repeat 7times)
There is a healer who can heal
Everyone who has a disease
A healer who can heal
Without taking a dime
Jesus the healer who can heal
Every sickness, every cell, every tissue, Every organ
The healer who can heal

”Hello saints and beloved friends, I trust that you are doing well and basking in God’s protection. We thought to share this with you all as we have recently made a few changes to our profile.”

”Apart from this being according to God’s leading and direction, we have received so many complaints about the difficulties with searching for our songs with the name – IZZY and how our music online distributors have also placed our songs under the wrong IZZY profile (even on YouTube) that appears to be portraying what we don’t stand for as a ministry.”

”This has made us sit back and redefine our representation, so it is very easy for you all to search for the songs and be blessed by them.”

We will be moving from the name – IZZY to my full name – ISRAEL ODEBODE. All social media handles will be changing as reflected in the above post. We are excited to begin this new journey still holding on to the MANDATE that God has entrusted in our hands. Please know that all old songs under the name IZZY remain valid.”

New Music: Alex Amos – Heaven

SelahAfrik‘s head honcho, Alex Amos digs into a 10-year-old archive to deliver the Christian Hip Hop song titled “Heaven.” The song featuring the vocals of singer Tamara Ebidi, is a walk into the psyche of the average Nigerian youth, thrust into the socio-economic hardship that demarcates dreams from realities with a huge gap; put up against the backdrop of the Christian Faith.

Alex speaks of a place of escape where there are no guilt, regrets, struggles nor strive and compares such peace with what Heaven must be like. Having justified that Heaven is both a location and a state of mind, he breaks into worship as led by the voice of Tamara Ebidi.

“I wrote ‘Heaven’ at a time when I was trying to understand what true happiness really is. Is it the fulfillment of your dreams and aspirations? Is it the fulfillment of the purpose for which God put you on earth? Is it being able to secure a well paying job or just having enough money to live a good life? Or is happiness a by-product of joy, which is a state that defies the external factors, either good or bad. I tried to address these in the 3 verses of the song but I am leaving you to decide,” Alex Amos said.

The chorus of the song was adapted from the original song released in the early 90s, titled “Mimo” by The Choir, C&S Movement Church, Surulere District HQ (Ayo Ni O) as led by Pro. (Dr) Sunday Funso Korode. It was rearranged by popular producer Young D. The Trap music instrumentation was produced by Teekaywitty of Henrisoul‘s “Bad Man” fame.

LYRICS IN LETTERS:

Intro:
I had a dream last night God spoke to me)2x
(Imma tell you what He said real quick)
Verse 1:
He said happiness
That word is so underrated
But at times it can be so overrated
Livelihood
Means the hood where you are lively
Exist in your mind or the hood you inhabit
Means your job may not really make you happy
Especially if you make money through crime habit
State of mind
Come take a walk in mine
It’s Beautiful – Beautiful
Be-You-Till-Full
It’s beautiful making money off what you are build to do
You can be all you want to be don’t let no one belittle you
Get to you, get into you, Get into your head
Love is gonna get you, Yes! KRS said
Especially whhen you base success on material wealth
Had a dream last night but I wasnt close to sleep
I was wide awake, yet had a dream like Martin
Cos where my mind goes, it don’t go with my body
Bridge:
Must be what Heaven feels like
No guilt, no stress, just peace of mind
Must be what heaven feels like
No guilt, no stress, just peace, no strive
And I heard them singing
Chorus:
Won Korin mimo
Mimo, mimo
Mimo Lori ite
Olorun, orun aiyeraye
Verse 2:
Where my mind goes is far from JK
Where my mind goes, only I understand when I explain
Where my mind goes, from this world its lost
Come take a walk in the streets made from thoughts
Here I can escape, here my heart don’t hurt
Sky so blue I just soak up the sun
No 10 to 9 waiting for the next pay at my shop
I’m there when the hood wakes, I’m there when the doors are shut
The birds don’t sing no more in JK
It’s been replaced by hustle noise as buses take people away
Where are they going? When will they be back
When they get back will they come back with some cash
Or at least some happiness or next day repeat the past
It’s why, every day I leave too
But not on those buses
I go to a place with angels and winged horses
My pain and my joy, here finds justice
Bridge:
Must be what Heaven feels like
No guilt, no stress, just peace of mind
Must be what heaven feels like
No guilt, no stress, just peace, no strive
And I heard them singing
Chorus:
Won Korin mimo
Mimo, mimo
Mimo Lori ite
Olorun, orun aiyeraye
Verse 3:
Lord where am at is far from where I target
And where am at is far from where I started
But I ain’t gone trade value for music they can dance to
Maybe when I’m gone they’ll understand what I do
Cos for you, I’m a bury all my idols
All I once held there, all I gave life to
Know I’m a work in progress so this bible
Beyond the sky-cloud is where I look
Reprise:
Awon Agbagba merin lelogun
Won juba won yi itereka
Won ko mimo sio oluwa
Olorun orun aiyeraye
Bridge:
Must be what Heaven feels like
No guilt, no stress, just peace of mind
Must be what heaven feels like
No guilt, no stress, just peace, no strive
And I heard them singing
Chorus:
Won Korin mimo
Mimo, mimo
Mimo Lori ite
Olorun, orun aiyeraye

Music: Busuyi Onabolu – I’ll Sing When Life Is Done

“When do you sing?”

It was the first time I asked that question of anyone. It was sometime in May of 2015 at a Rotary Club meeting.

Everybody sings… some answered… it is an involuntary action.

Some responded they only sing on special days and maybe on Sundays at Church.

After some time, a lady, demurring a little, rose up and said …’ I did not want to bring this up earlier but ‘Songs are powerful, more powerful than prayers as they reach straight for heaven’s throne.’

I have since asked many more people and groups the same question, when do you sing? The responses did not vary much from the initial responses, but the ladies stood alone…The lady’s answer would appear strange, but so is my question.

It was a question that has been on my mind ever since I had a dream, vision, or reverie… call it whatever you may in which I was given a song, and that question was asked.

My question that first time was to unburden my mind. Her answer convicted me.

And now I have a song…The song came to me in April of 2015.

I was walking down this road and saw a crowd being addressed by a man from a podium. It was the man I was going to see.

As I neared him, he suddenly and openly started condemning what he was doing and abruptly stepped down from the podium. He walked, as if rushing, across the road, and went into a massive Industrial-like building.  Out of the building came the sound of a beautiful song that drew me towards the building.

Lyrics: I’LL SING WHEN LIFE IS DONE [By: Busuyi Onabolu]

O do Sing, o all you people

O Sing, all day long

I do sing for my Lord and Saviour

I’ll sing when life is done.

CHORUS:

(So, Sing) Sing, O all you people

(So, Sing)  Sing all day long

(O Sing, O Sing)

Sing to the Lord your Saviour

You’ll sing when life is done.

I do sing for joy of creation

And I sing for this gift of life

I do sing for all life’s provisions

I’ll sing when life is done

CHORUS:

I do sing when life does get stormy

And I sing through the rain or shine

I do sing for He’s ever near me

I’ll sing when life is done.

CHORUS:

I do sing for a mi-llion reasons

And I sing for victories

I do sing even in low times

I’ll sing when life is done.

CHORUS:

I do sing in Thanksgiving

And I sing for He keeps me safe

I’ll sing when this life is over

I’ll sing when life is done.

CHORUS: (2ce)…..fades
