New Video: Yoma – Don’t Doubt The Lord

Dublin-based 11 year-old singer Yoma Dodo has left an indelible mark on the year 2015 with the release of the single “Don’t Doubt the Lord”. Many were astonished at the level of faith, needless to talk about the artistry and creativity Yoma demonstrated with the song.

With the official release of the song in Nigeria last May, Yoma followed in quick successions with the announcement and teaser for the video of the song. Finally she sojourns with the release of the video for “Don’t Doubt the Lord” this 4th day of June 2015.

The song was born out of her mum’s experience when she had issues with her vocal cords but was eventually healed by God. Yoma uses the song to inspire and encourage people to trust in God even in dire situations as depicted the case of the characters in the video. She tells a compelling story of an overshadowing dark cloud hemmed by the glimmer of hope – a silver lining – with the video.

The video was shot on location within the premises of Christ Ambassador Christian Centre, Finglas, Dublin and was directed by Hermillio Opel. “Don’t Doubt the Lord” was produced by Chris Kabs.

Yoma developed a passion for music at a young age with singers such as Chrisette Michelle, Sinach, Frank Edwards, Tasha Cobbs, and more shaping her style and prowess. She is presently a member of the CACC youth choir and the St Teresa primary school choir – the Superstars in Dublin.

She is not your average 11 year-old and her video is definitely nowhere around average!
As we celebrate children’s day, Ogheneyoma Azania Dodo, simply known as Yoma finally gives a date for the release of the video, for the smash hit single “Don’t Doubt the Lord” and whets out appetite with the video teaser.

The single was released earlier in the month making it Yoma’s debut into the Gospel music scene. It caught on almost immediately, enjoying great reviews across various platforms.

Most child-stars will opt for a simple plot, something that depicts their age grade but not Yoma. Sonorous with the voice, witty with the brain! She employs a dramatic plot to unveil a compelling story which will only be told with the release of the video.

The video was shot on location in Dublin, Ireland and will be release on the 6th of June.

Yoma is presently a member of the CACC youth choir and the St Teresa primary school choir – the Superstars. She aims to use her music to inspire and encourage people to trust in God, to worship and appreciate him.

11 YEAR-OLD DUBLIN BASED SINGER YOMA DEBUTS WITH “DON’T DOUBT THE LORD”

“And [Jesus] called a child to Himself and set him before them – and said ‘unless you become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven’” (Mathew 18:3), so it does not come as much surprise if He chooses to send us a message of hope through a child as well.

Dublin based singer/songwriter Yoma is 11 years old but God has used her to bring us an apt message of hope saying “Don’t Doubt the Lord”. The uptempo Techno-pop fusion follows the theme of the song both in the tone and mood as well with Yoma’s tender voice asking:

“Why do you still doubt the Lord?

Has he not said it, will he not do it?

He just needs your faith.”

Born in Galway City in the Republic of Ireland, Ogheneyoma Azania Dodo was born into a musical family, her maternal grandfather was a singer, her mum is a choir member at CACC Dublin and Yoma’s brothers Tevin and Troy also sing.

She developed a passion for music at a young age with singers such as Chrisette Michelle, Sinach, Frank Edwards, Tasha Cobbs, Kirk Franklin, Sonnie Badu, Pastor Donnie McClurkin, Sammie Okposo, Bob Marley and Sia shaping her style and prowess.

Yoma’s aim is to use her music to inspire and encourage people to trust in God, to worship and appreciate him. Yoma is presently a member of the CACC youth choir and the St Teresa primary school choir – the Superstars
